The Law of Sand Sculpture

Doug Law
Sandman and King of the Castle.

Doug Law is a Scottish artist and sculptor. His sand sculptures have astounded people from Abu Dhabi to San Diego to Allendale. He now lives in Northumberland. He generally completes a sculpture in 10 hours or more, using 2-10 tons of ordinary builders sand, a shovel, his trusty magic knife, a paint brush, buckets of water and a plasterer's float.

Some of the examples of his work were created for country fairs, seaside holiday promotions, supermarket openings and international exhibitions. While working he generally consumes a packet of jelly babies and one banana. This diet is not essential for sand sculpting, but is for Doug.

Non-sustainable means of transport

Doug will always consider commissions if vast sums of money are involved, or even reasonable sums and some jelly babies. He will provide his own banana.
